knife design

I have been thinking for a while on designing a knife. I have no experience in making the knife myself, nor do I think I would want to, because I wish this to be a relatively inexpensive production knife. I also am a huge fan of spyderco knives, and I think I would like some input from the company on the design. However, I don't know how I would go about contacting them. does anyone on these forums know how I would contact them, to perhaps communicate with a representative from spyderco about this design?
any and all feedback would be appreciated
thanks fellas
Peter

You can try the Spyderco Tech forum on their site.

Sal has given advice (and his permission to use the round hole) to a few of the knife-makers on the Spyderco Forum. If you ask, I'm sure you will recieve.

it is actually being designed as a fixed bladed utility knife, I have been thinking on for several years. I work in an industry where a knife is a necessity, and I have tried several different designs.
I finally think I have come up with something feasable, and would like to see what it turns into.
however, I have no knife making ability, nor the means to learn, and would benefit more by passing the design onto a company that makes a product that has served me well in every situation I have encountered

Hi Peter. The normal way that Spyderco handles new designs, design concepts or prototypes is through our R&D dept. Contact Peter Jhones at Spyderco R&D dept and he can run you through the procedure.

Naturally, as an innovative company, we are always interested in new thought.
