How do you guys store/display your knives?

I have two small 15"x7" glass topped display cases I keep all my folding knives in on my desk. However, I am looking for for a way to display my bigger BK knives!

I was thinking of taking down my bulletin board and building some type of peg board display that I could just lay them out on but I am still not sure!

This is what I currently am using.

This is what I was thinking.

Any ideas? How are some ways everyone displays all their knives!

Pictures!

They mainly just sit around all over my house. and truck. and shop. I have 3 on my desk by my puter as I type this lol

As a saftey thing I lock all my blades away, displaying them is just like wearing blaze orange in the middle of a war.

Hahaha, might want to organize those bad boys!

Where I live we have next to zero crime so I am very worried about a break in or anything!

I dont even organize my guns..much less knives. There's usually guns in the corners behind doors, under couches...I once moved a chair and found a pistol under it I had been looking for, and last time I moved...I found a rifle under a couch that I had forgotten I owned.

I keep them locked in a box, organized as such:

hahaha, that would scare me! would suck to forget a gun someplace!

I have one small square in the MBR closet (clothes horse wife has rest of space) with shirts I never wear. Going to convert that for hanging display/storage! Surprised she's put up with all blades on the L/R floor this long.

I keep my good ones in a safe. Been thinking about putting up pegboard though, wouldn't look fancy but it'd work

i just stack them in the upstairs bathtub i don't use. quick showers downstairs, that's the ticket.

man, there's just like boxes of this stuff...

what kills me is i know people with 5x more guns than i have knives. sick! they have NO IDEA what they own, or what it's worth. they'll die, and someone will have to spends months figuring it out.

Yeah, ran into a guy like that at a gun shop once. He was upset because his mom had thrown out his .357 which he'd stashed at the bottom of a trash can. I have no words.

The guns are all locked, and also mostly locked up as well. Doesn't include the air rifles. The knives.... well, I'm out of space. I like the shoe organizer idea a lot. Got no ideas there.

Mine are just kind of laying around. I do have a tote I toss some into, but I'm usually pulling them out so often I dont remember to put them back. I do kinda like the peg board setup like in that pic. But I doubt I would display them in the living room or anything like that, it would be in the gear closet. I'd like to pick up one of those small oak machinist chests for my EDC items, maybe I will have to look for a larger one for my bush blades.

Top drawer of my workbench in my garage is where I keep all of the ones I don't use frequently, for folders that I EDC often I have a space cleared in the corner of my sock drawer so as I'm getting ready and grabbing socks I can pick which folder to grab for the day. Also I keep my BK14 in a cabinet near my sliding glass door to the backyard because I like to keep it in my pocket when I do yard work.

I did buy a toolbag that I try to keep my blades in...but I keep getting them out to use, fondle or make sheaths on...so they tend to scatter out.

Be careful what you use as a liner in display cases like the one posted above. Some of those "felt" type materials can outgas or otherwise cause corrosion to you knives. I've even seen posts on this type of thing happening before, and there was damage caused to not just the blades, but to the brass and nickle bolsters on the knives as well.

I would love to display my weapons, but burglaries and thefts can (and do) happen everywhere. If it hasn't happened in your area it eventually will, or more likely, already has and you are just unaware of it. So on that note, all my guns, knives, and other expensive miscellaneous bladed implements are locked in safes (3 of them) that are too big to move by anything other that a forklift : D.

My bottom liner is actually leather in mine, not felt like in that picture. However, that is a really good point! I had never even thought about that!

I don't display my knives and I don't currently lock them up. We have an old armoire that I use to store them in. A couple of shelves that are big enough for blades, sheaths, extra scales, boxes, etc. and deep enough to fit all - sizes from my folders to machetes.
