I'm having a problem with my gerber ghost strike. Have been carrying it scout carry. Problem is I sharpen it on my sharp maker to the point it can push cut paper and slice phone book paper. When I take it out of the sheath the edge does rub the sheath some but would think it would cause instant dullness. It won't even slice paper after I take it out a time or two. I could change the carry to where it doesn't rub but I'm thinking there is more too this. Could it be that there is possibly a micro burr still left that I can't see? How do I fix this?

Does the blade rattle in the sheath? My Buck Generals did that until I slipped cardboard into the sheath to take up some slack. Or your hitting something when you insert or draw the blade.

Hi,
How are you deburring? high/double angle light (under 100 grams) alternating passes (40 degrees per side)?
What kind of stuff have you cut with the knife? sod/dirt?
Do you cut off the apex before sharpening?
How much force are you using to sharpen ?
if you put sharpmaker on a scale, and then sharpen knife, how many pounds/grams?
Also, what is your sharpening angle, how many degrees per side?
