Knife edge band saw blade

It's a bit difficult to tell from your post exactly what you're looking for, but perhaps something like the Spyderco Spydersaw?

I think you're looking for a knife with a blade as thin and flexible as a band saw blade.

I used to just make them myself (broomstick, good drill bits, and dime store screws).

But, for one that doesn't crack when over flexed, one of the Finnish Puuka knives or perhaps a fillet knife (fishing knife) may do.

Sorry for not giving enough info. I am trying to build a machine that mows a field of broccoli and seperates the leaves from the heads all mechanically. My bed width is about 4 feet and I want to cut 3 beds at a time. I was thinking of a heavy duty band saw I dont want the blade to flex much. I was hoping to find a knife edge instead of a fine tooth. I am thinking about 1.25-1.5" wide.

Hi Rob,

I would contact an industrial band saw supplier. Look up "Simonds" or "Do-All". Look in the phone book under industrial supplies or tools.
They both make a variety of band saw blades and could probably help you. They could also weld them to the exact size you need. I have seen some knife edge blades that had a bit of a "wavy" edge on them. I thint that this is what you might be looking for.

PS. Lenox and Starrett also make band saw blades

Hey Rob..

Sounds like a Custom machine for sure...

Why not just take a bandsaw, and extend it in length...You'd have to get custom bands made,, but thats easy enough..

Slap some wheels and height adjustment on that mother,,and push it through the field....

I have a friend who grows flowers,,and he uses a gas lawn mower with two handles on it and the wheels taken off, however it has to be carried and operated by two people...

If you were in Canada,, I know who could build such a thing...

This must be for a Greenhouse or something Eh ??

Turn the bandsaw blade around and use the back. If the rpm's are high enough you can friction cut steel.
