Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a Dozier Master Skinner (Maple Burl) as a birthday gift for my father (6 months away). He hunts recreationally (pheasant, grouse, deer) and occasionally (rarely) fishes. I would like to give a nice, high quality fixed blade, with a customized/personalized engraving. Ideally, I would like to spend $250USD maximum.
Does anyone know a reputatable service to get custom etching/engraving done? And is there any negative impact on blade strength/performance? I have seen a number of (what appears to be) laser etched modified blades on posts in various threads here, and was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice.
Also, any suggestions of a quality (custom) blade instead of the Master Skinner, that falls within my price range (<$250 USD) for the given criteria (hunting/skinning/utility) would be appreciated. Any other alternatives? Would this make a nice gift? Would you be happy?
Regards,
Shaun.
