You need the minimum paid membership (Basic) to be allowed to post a thread in the trade forum.
However, you can still send trade offers to those with existing threads without a paid membership.

a membership was all I never had to pay to post there before I could see for selling but trading no some of us are lucky to just have internet charging for everything is crazy

I don’t believe I’ve ever commented on how someone should spend their own money but this website is not free to exist.
Also if the $10 a year for a membership is too much of a stretch then the cost of shipping your side of a trade might surprise you.

You're not prohibited from trading, you just can't start your own thread. As they say, membership has it's privileges.
