I cut these out of old band steel, maybe L6, 1075 but we don't know for sure so we'll title it 'mystery steel'... I was going to use these as a companion knifes, fire kits or simply as gifts to customers when they bought a knife..
I was using up scrap leather, cord and whatnot but had a problem with glue setting up (cold), so I never finished wrap, although the glue seems to have set up and is no longer tacky (2 days later), so in lieu of starting over thought I'd offer them up for you guys to test to your hearts desire..
These are around 5" oal and around 1/16" thick make for a awesome slicer, how well will the edge hold up??? Lets find out... I'm not expecting much but who knows..
these have been HT'd and still have scale, they have no sheath and will come sharp, !!!
All as pictured are up for grabs with the exception of one that I will keep here for the bench and further testing to see if the steel is even viable enough to fool with for future uses, sales etc..
Rules are simple: send me a PM or VM (no emails) and tell me what you think these little suckers would be best used for in the bush, bob, firekit, letter opener, unwanted bill shredder, something to dig dirt out of the cracks in rocks while you sit and enjoy your camp and its surroundings.. etc...
then post here so you have a number I will pull from a random generator or simply picked at random by my wife or kids.s
Winners:Agree to test knives and tell me what a worthless piece of junk and wished they wouldn't of wasted the 15 seconds it took to enter, they can start a thread, post pics, pm/vm me, call me or simply never talk to me again about it, its up to you....
I will pick one a day until Christmas or thereabouts, maybe more pending interest in the thread.....
*disclaimer* you must be legally able to own a knife..
ENJOY !!!!
