So, I was contacted by Just1mor about making a knife for his wife as a gift. She is a recent cancer survivor and he wanted something special for her to use in the kitchen. Bill wanted to use a pink handle material, for obvious reasons. I searched around looking for a wood in pink that would work but could not find anything of quality to use. I than remembered seeing some pink burlap from Shadetree and sent him an email. Todd responded, not only with the scales, but he sent them for free! Well, I didn't have a design to use so I drew something out with the rough outline and went to work. It ended up a little different than the drawing but I love the way it feels. It has a slight contour at the top of the spine for comfort and of course a palm swell. I still have some finishing work to do as well as add the "Surprise"! I emailed the man that supplied me with my Makers Mark and he came up with a cancer ribbon to use on the other side of the blade. I think Sally will love it! Im waiting for the stencil to arrive but it should be done and mailed by the end of the week. Thanks Bill for the chance to be involved in this special knife. Thank you Todd and Ernie for supplying the scales and stamp. There are still good people left on this earth! I will take some good pics when I get it finished and will post them up. I hope Sally likes it brother!
