Just got this one finished off for a KITH over on another forum. For anyone who might now be wondering what the hell I'm on about, this is 'Knife In The Hat'. Someone picks a design to make...the makers then do their best, once they've all been made, the knives are numbered, put in a hat and drawn. You send yours off to someone, and in return you get a knife back yourself.

Blade is 4 3/4" 1095, Red Stag handle from an estate close to me, brass fittings with a little black and red fibre thrown in for good measure.
Overall length is 9 3/8"

Thanks for looking.:)

Ian, is it just makers who come up with the design, or can someone who doesn't make knives provide a design?

This is a nice design and your knife making seems to complement it extremely well, dare say I almost as much as the other designs you usually use.
You are versatile, let's get you a slab of titanium, some super conducter, and lightning strike carbon fiber and see what you can do with some carbide and an asymmetrical grind. Or how 'bout a chunk of flint and some rancid tendons, bet you could make something pretty nice outta that too.

Hey Ian,

Very cool design. Excellent workmanship as always. :)

P.S. How did you get the buttcap on?

I think anyone can come up with the initial idea. This is the first kith I've done to be honest, as this is the first kith idea I've seen that's 'floated my boat'.

Here's what's been going on so far, along with a mini WIP of mine being made....http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?119965-KITH-with-a-difference.-set-design

I might start my own kith now....'A knife in the style of Bob Loveless using nothing but flint and rancid tendon'....could be interesting!!:D

Cheers,

Ian
