Knife for Daughter???

It seems that my Daughter has started to appreciate having a knife handy. She has asked for one for Christmas. She has also requested that it be quite slim and have about a 3" blade length. I wasn't planning on spending much money on this one and so it seemed that a Spydie would probably be my best bet. Has anybody out there had some good luck procuring blades that would catch a females eye? TIA and Merry Christmas

How about either a Spyderco Delica or Dragonfly?

My girfriend carries one of the two as EDC and likes them both a lot. She started on the Dragonly but found that too small so then moved onto the Delica.

Lockbacks are also easier to maintan that linerlocks IMO.

The Blue Delica would meet your requirements if you can find one in time for Xmas.

A simple Opinel 6 would be an ideal gift for a young lady. The make them with some very cool patterns engraved in them. Classic, lightweight and great cutters, what more could you want for $15?

Buy her a stainless Spyderco Delica and have her name engraved on it.

When I read your post I asked my wife which one of my knives she would like as her own. She stated that the Draonfly II (SS/PE)would be her choice. You could also look at the Calypso. I hope these various posts have helped.

I really think what you'll want to have a look at is the Benchmade Mel Pardue(sp?) Mod 850S or even the Mod 335. I always reckoned that thing looked more like a girls/females folder than one made for a guy.
And since it's a Benchmade it should be superb quality.

edited to add:
I just checked and other Mel Pardue models that would be suitable are the 855P, 855S, 855S02, and 856BT.

The Spyderco Vesuvius with the colored inlay is a nice knife. I gave one to my daughter last Christmas. She's getting a Kershaw Rainbow Leek this year.

Maybe a Bob Lum Chinese Folder?

If that one´s outta your price range, I´d go with the above-mentioned Blue Delica suggestion.

I'll go with Bobwhite and suggest a Swiss army knife. I gave my wife a little two-bladed model (I think it is called the pocket pal) and she keeps it in her Explorer all the time.
