Happy Holidays all,

I have a question, similar to one asked earlier. My brother is headed to the great beyond for a spell and I wanted to send him off with a good blade for his trip. Now I have both of the knives in question but have had absolutely no time to give either one a good workout as yet. I do like them both but I want to make sure he has a no fail blade.
My question is: Based on user experience and knowledge which one would be the better choice for his 'trip'?
He is not quite sure what they will be doing or where exactly they are going, so I want him to be as prepared as possible in the blade arena.
Please provide whatever insight you can.

My thanks in advance.

Roy

I would pick the GB knife out of those two. Reason.....if he's going to a place that gets real cold, you don't want a metal handled knife. Thats coming from experience. To me the GB knife and sheath is ready and set for field duty. Better yet, let him decide which one is best for him.

There are metal areas of the knife that will still contact your hand. The scales do not fully enclose the handle. Besides if its that cold people wear gloves. Either will do nicely.
