Last fall my grandpa passed away and I wanted to do something special for grandma. I made this kitchen type paring knife for her from one of grandpas old files. The scales and stand are spalted tamarind and the antler was also from a small buck he shot (he never was a trophy hunter, just a meat hunter). Thanks for taking a peak.

Spectacular knife! And good on ya for making from materials granpa handled. I am sure she will love it.

Good work, and a great story behind it. To me, little things like this are one of the draws of custom knives.

Your knife is a very nice gift to Your Grandmother in Honor of Your Grandfather.
It looks like You put a lot of careful thought into it and it couldn't have turned out better.
The stand compliments Your beautiful well crafted knife perfectly.
It is no wonder that Your Grandfather looks happy, He has a caring family.
Excellent photos.

p.s.
What is the o.a.l. of the knife ?
