Knife for mom

Hi, first thread. I know there's buzz from the warehouse sale and the buying spirit is rubbing off on me a little. I've gotten my dad a knife (RAM blem) but not mom. I am a little on the fence about it because she's seen me with just one or two and frowned at me a bit for not using scissors or something. However, I'm sure she'd find something to do with a small knife, either around the house or in the church office. My gut feeling was a Chive or Scallion, something small and simple. The projected activities are box and letter openings, and maybe the odd minor abuse (scraping tape off a desk, I dunno).

I've only ever handled a Scallion and that only briefly. My impression was that it was small (and I know the Chive is even smaller) but perhaps it wouldn't be small to her. Are those good options? Any other suggestions? Any comments about how non-knife people react to receiving knives? Thanks very much Kai-community!

My wife really likes her Leek, but then again she liked my 301 well enough to steal it, and now my new 350 until the 301 is back.

Spyderco Delica 4 and it comes in several colors (including pink). She's sure to like one of them.

After I decoded Dave's list that he sent, the wife was able to see what the model numbers matched up to. She chose a Leek combo blade, purple Blur and a Rainbow Scallion for herself and a Rainbow Leek for the daughter.

Awesome choices all around! Purple blur is awesome. I have a love hate for the grippy blur handle material but the smoothness of the all aluminium handles of the purple and green blurs are just glorious!

Chive or Centofante, the Cent's are rare though albeit beautiful IMO

You scan still easily find the centofantes, certain colors are starting to get rarer but most are still available with a little time and searching. Only the rainbow one I believe is next to impossible to find.

I want to say go pink, but I think for a non knife lady the A/O might be scary. Maybe go Skyline, it wont fly open and she can open it carefully with two hands like I imagine non knife women would do. However, pink will probably appeal to her as were a black skyline will not. I got my sister a pink Leek, they dont open too crazy fast and its big enough to have a good hold on it. There is my in direct suggestion

Sak florist its not pointy but its useful.its available in many colors plus its made to cut flowers! Also the blade is straight and chisel ground so it is easy to keep very sharp. I carry one of these often when im on dress pants

I lucked out on the rainbow one, truth be told I'm more interested in the 1615 models than the 1610. The DLC coating just makes them look so much more classier, I'm still trying to work out a deal on the Moteng limited run edition.
