Hi all,
Just wondering what do you suggest for a knife for a girlfriend to put in her purse? I was thinking the Kershaw skyline, or maybe a dragonfly I own both already and know how they are. The thing about both those knives are they are small and if you know ladies at all there purse are always full of CRAP! So I know she needs something smaller but not too small price is not an issue either. So throw out some suggestions or what do you think would be better the skyline or dragonfly?

Thanks
Andrew

My girlfriend carries a ppt and likes it alot. She carried a delica before and liked that one too, lots of colors to choose from.

Yeah thats another thing she wants a colorful knife. The dragonfly has the dragonfly on some of them and she likes that version.

in a purse full of crap i wouldnt trust anything but a lock back. or something with a closed safety. my wife carries an endura.

IMO the dragonfly is a better knife. She might like the kershaw cryo, I've heard it's a fun knife. The victorinox cadet might be a winner, plus it has a nail file! And you can get it in many different colors.

I say Delica or Mini Griptilian.
Or get her a Blue Persistence?

If money isn't an issue. Get her a Spyderco Leafstorm. Or a Sage 2.
And then have a scale in her favorite color made?

Yeah I am liking the custom scale idea. I have a blue mini grip but I think it would open right up in the purse. I didn't know the sage could have custom grips either. Might get that for my self ;)

Was talking to mine the other day about knife brands or something, I don't remember... Anyway I said "That Needs Work I showed you is a Kershaw," and she said "Oh no wonder it's such a nice knife."

So moral of the story... Chicks dig Kershaws

Does it have to be a one hand opening knife? There are some really cool colourful SAKs that she might like, and also some of the smaller Leatherman tools (Juice, Squirt). I've given a few SAKs and small multitools to female friends, relatives and my girlfriend and they all found them very useful.

If you prefer a single bladed knife but are worried that a folder might open up inside a messy purse, then get her a small fixed blade. You can get an ESEE Izula in several colours (different handle scales are also available), Bark River's Bravo Necker also comes in severa different colours (also with multiple handle scale options).

The Spyderco Squeak is a pretty cool knife. It is non locking though but still a great knife.

The Spyderco Spin or Dragonfly Tattoo are both great purse knives. My wife carries a dragonfly and my daughters carry a spin and the love them.

There seems to be a lot of pink Spyderco Lum Chinese knives on the market.

I think a small folder is the way to go more than a small fixed blade. I think the dragonfly tattoo is the what im going to get her. Thanks for all the help.

The knife will not likely open in her purse. It takes force(not a lot) for a knife to open and knives ride around in stuffed pockets/purses all the time without incident, so I don't think it's a lot to worry about. I think it would be cute(I'm such a girl) if you guys had matching knives.
For example your blue mini grip and get her a pink one.
Buy yourselves a Delica.
Do the squeaks or some UKPK's.

Just throwing that out there haha.

Anyways, the Dragonfly is awesome, a good choice, she'll love it.

Get her the Tattoo and you the G-10 Lol.

Spyderco ladybug with a quick release keyring! She can put it on her keys and is hardly noticed when she carries it.
