My wife has finally come around and wants to buy a knife she can carry. Her requirements, to my surprise, are 3.5 to 4 inch blade with plastic or smooth scales. She prefers a thumbstud. I was thinking a Voyager or Dejavoo but am trying to convince her an Endura FFG would be perfect. Any suggestions? Oh, and she doesn't want a girlie color. She has put up with my knife addiction so I want to get her a nice one. Maybe a moki.

Griptilian comes to mind. For some reason it always does whenever anyone asks for an EDC recommendation.

Are switchblades legal in your state? First blade I bought my wife was a CA legal Protech runt after a month of dating/screwing.

Benchmade 530 Mel Pardue. It is slim, lightweight, and a whole lot of knife. It also looks pretty threatening.

It looks tactical, but in a sleek way. It almost looks like a dagger, the blade is very symmetrical, except for the thumb stud. It fits all of your criteria.

Diane uses this and her pink mini-grip most often!

She keeps it clipped inside her purse's pocket. She halfed a cheeseburger in Mickie D's Wednesday night for one of the boys. She opened it two handed. That was kind of awkward but fun to watch. I did not correct her. She had to flip it over a couple times to see which was the sharp side. It still has it's factory edge, was at least adequate. She does not want it super sharp. I am thrilled she is finding uses for it.

One of her mom's crazy boyfriends from the past threatened her with a knife about 25 yrs. ago, so she reminds me that sometimes just an image can bring back bad memories, so she is doing very well with my steel heroin.
