I just picked up a pair of Calvin Klein jeans at the thrift store for $6 (I buy most of my clothes at the thrift store, then I have more $$$ for the knife budget!) and was most pleased with the "watch pocket" or whatever you call that extra little pocket on the right side. It is a full 4 inches deep, which means I can put put my Vic Soldier, Benchmade 707 or Kershaw Leek in it and they don't stick out like in most jeans. Even my Benchmade Osborne NRA Gaucho goes in as far as the clip will let it (it's 4.5" overall, with a 3.5" blade). I'm pleased.

I wish more watch pockets were deep enough and big enough for a full size knife.

I've been tryin' "Mountain Khakies" as they have an extra front pocket behind the normal right hand pocket (price on the bay ain't bad).

Still, I prefer the IWB carry method.

Congrats on the find.

I know what you mean.

Most of the time I wear Old Navy painters pants or Levi's cargo pants and they have a nice watch pocket. I just put a CRKT M16 into my watch pocket (4.5" closed) and it disapears.

Nice to carry a knife in the watch pocket and also something else clipped to the regular pocket. :)

The Land's End jeans I used to buy had the watch pocket set at the front seam of the right front pocket. It was just deep enough to accomodate the barrell and front part of the frame of a 2" J-frame Smith and Wesson. With a T-shirt draped over it the little gun just disappears. You would not want to run with this arrangement, but for walking it works fine. The other brands of jeans I have tried did not work nearly as well. Eddie Bauer jeans, for instance, have the watch pocket set at the back of the front pocket and it does not work nearly as well for concealed carry.

I stopped buying Land's End jeans because they seemed to wear out too fast, but that little watch pocket was great.

On any pair of jeans, you can modify the watch pocket to accomodate a knife (as long as it has a clip). Just slice the bottom. That way, your knife can extend below the inside edge of the pocket (into the main pocket below). Doesn't work for SAKs, though, or other knives without clips.

I've got a pair of old Guess jeans with perfect right AND left knife pockets, built in right between the front pocket and the side seam. They're D-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-P - not sure what the design purpose was, but I've never had a folder-friendlier set of pants.

I should try to find some more of those.

Hey Guys..

Calvins ???

Holy cow..

The last pair of Calvins I seen were in a ball on the floor of my 78 Camero that belonged to my girlfriend at the time...:)

That's not to say you are wearing Chick Jeans....

Eric....

I had a pair, best fitting jeans ever, watch pocket was perfect for my tinker, and super roomy. Finally died due to too much wearing.

Yeah, I always thought of Calvin Klein's as Chick Jeans, but this pair that I've got, you can't tell them from Levis, Lees or Wranglers.Pretty plain vanilla, except for the nice, deep watch pocket.

Levi's are damn popular, but the watch pockets are tiny. I've always found Lee to fit me better, and the watch pockets are pretty huge, big enough for a 4" closed knife.

That's funny, I was thinking of the same pair. They have all kinds of holes and paint/oil/etc. stains now, but that "folder pocket" still works nicely. (Bit raveled now though:grumpy: )

I have a pair of nautica pants on righ now, they have a secret watch pocket that I carry a sak in.
