I'm a little embaressed to ask for help, but I figured there was no other place better than here. Don't make fun of me too much, but I'm looking for either a pink knife or a knife with a horse on it.

Long story short, I already bought my girlfriend a good present for christmas but I wanted something small in addition. She always plays with my knives and likes knives that are 'fun' to open and close. Does not like spring assists. She loves the sound of the mnandi (when you get that 'thwack' as the lock engages) but thinks its a tad small, and likes the paramilitary 2 opening and closing.

Unfortunately, she will never use this knife so I cannot really justify getting a nice knife by a knife nut standards (nice steel, nice handle, nice lock, etc). She really likes pink things, really likes rainbow things, and loves horses. I thought about the rainbow leek, but I don't want to drop 90 dollars on a semi serious semi joke present. I also thought about using rit dye on a white knife to make it pink but I can't think of any. I'm looking for an affordable, girly knife, under 50 bucks. I don't really care if its good steel, has a good lock, or anything like that. I want it to look pretty (I feel like I'm a horrible person for saying this), feel decent, and not be made of chinese pot steel.

I saw this buck knife:

it'd be perfect, but its got a 120 reserve and I don't really cannot justify spending that kind of money right now.

Do you guys have any ideas?
If it had a horse on it it would be amazing, but a normal pink/rainbow knife is fine too.

I really appreciate the help!

How about a Pink Mini Griptilian? It's a few bucks more than your budget but will last a long time. It's an Axis lock so fun can be had for hours flicking it open & close.

It's a sexy little knife & your getting a good o'l made in the US of A knife!

Holy crap dude, I think we live the same life! My girlfriend is literally EXACTLY the same! I got my girlfriend sort of into knives - she really likes my Para 2 because its "fun to play with" as well, and she likes the fact that the compression lock means your fingers are never in the way of the blade. I too decided to get her a knife for Christmas and I wanted it to be pink (her favorite color) and possibly involve horses (she's been riding since she was four, and has two horses). I wasn't able to incorporate the latter but a Pink Mini Grip with the sheepsfoot blade was perfect for her. It's small enough for her hands (she's 4'11"), has a spydie hole (likes those), is pink, and the axis lock means your hand won't get in the way of closing. I recommend one of those!

p.s. I hope you're not secretly cuckolding me.

For 65ish dollars, Spyderco Pink Native

Amazing knife, great steel, solid lock, small enough to go anywhere. Made in the USA, and proceeds go to Breast Cancer Network of Strength. This should get you brownie points. :)

i think the dragonfly and ladybug come in pink. the squeak also comes in pink.

Too bad they don't have these here: http://www.couteaux-berthier.com/opinel-knife-hand-carved-horse,us,4,OPINELsculpteCHEVAL.cfm.

Of course, if you have carving skills, you could get one of Opinel's Ebauche line (opinel-usa.com) and carve one like the one above.

For decent but affordable pink knives you might check out Boker's pink slipjoint Subcom or one of Ka-Bar's Dozier folders.

For a fun opening knife I agree with svs on the griptilian. Maybe a purple spyderco ladybug? Not pink but still a girly color, plus it's very small so she'll think its "so cute." As a bonus she might actually use it if it's on her keychain.

The Bob Dozier folding hunter KA-BAR folders are offered in pink FRN and way under 50 bucks. Fine knives for the money as far as I'm concerned. The AUS-8 is decent stuff and can get scary sharp.
