Hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum for this or not. Please feel free to move it if needed.
I have an old Randall knife that I inherited years ago. It has the leather handle as well as the original sheath and I cannot get mold to stop forming on both the handle and sheath. It doesn't seem to matter if i store the knife in a dry or damp part of my house, the mold comes back within a month of cleaning it off. I have cleaned it off with a bleach/water mix to kill the spores and the mold still comes back.
I have used Obenauf's to condition the leather but I have know idea what has been used in the past. Any ideas what can be done to keep the mold away? I have other leather handled knives (including a newer Randall) stored in the same place and they show no sign of mold.
