knife handle- Pentagon

I purchased a Pentagon fighting bowie, and I do like the blade config and all. However, the handle is large and made of polished micarta. it is too hard for me to wield with any effectiveness, even in my room.

My intent was to carry this blade while hiking/camping as a protective measure...so i wanted something secure and solid. well, the knife feels solid, but i do not trust my surity of grip on this knife if in a dangerous situation.

if anyone has a good way of rectifying the issue, or if a pentagon rep happens to read this...could i get a hand? no, don't clap.

i did try calling into pentagon, but only got a pleasant receptionist.

please help! or, if anyone can think of a better knife to fit these needs(hiking, camping, etc...not a lot of city use) please direct me.

thank you all

and please forgive the ramblin', im a bit fried from work.

I picked up one of the black Ka-Bars a little under a year ago for the same purpose. It's only been used for camping/hiking a couple of times. But ... I like it. Very grippy Kraton G handle. Nice and solid, not blade-heavy. IMHO, likely the most bang for the $. (I had heard that they don't hold an edge very well, but such has not been my experience.)

Hope this is of some use to you.

You could try checkering the handle or bead blasting it. You could also rough it up with some sandpaper.
