Knife handle

CF can have splinters. Small ones are easy to fix with super glue. A big one would be a reason to return it. Got a pic?
 
Oh ok - if it's for using I would just fill that in with super glue and sand it flat. Unless it drives him crazy, then exchange instead of repair.
 
Even if it's a user, if he tries to resell or trade it, that defect will knock the value down IMO. I know it's a hassle, especially as it's a gift, but I would return/exchange it. You don't want him to have any negatives associated with a gift IMO.

Seeing as he's very picky I will most likely try to return is. Thank you for the feedback
