Spent some time tonight working on some knife safety and feather sticking/fire making with my 5 year old... Good memories! Let him try out my FF Duke and my lt wright Forrest trail... He was able to get a couple curls :-)

Fun time. I'm jealous. My girls they are a bit meh on knives.
you need to send her down to Perdido when we finally get there and settled. She can hang out with my boys with her knives. Hell she even learn a bunch of new words to bring back home to mommy.

Nicely done, I love seeing this sort of stuff. The more kids we having learning real knife skills, the more minds that will be prepared to help dispel the stupidity as they get older. I do a knife safety and knife skills course for a non-profit I work with. My daughter has done some pretty good curls here and there. I started her out handling a knife by helping me in the kitchen and progressed from there as she got more familiar with how it handled.
