Hi all,

Would any of you fine folks know of a knife harness that I can purchase that doesn't cost the proverbial "arm and a leg"?
I wanted something outside of the paracord harness that has been on the posts.

Thank you,

Prof. Ed

Prof. Ed,

Are you referring to one that you wear around the upper body, to which you can affix all sorts of things?

If so, you can indeed easily make your own. I did by going down to REI (you can probably find something similar at any outdoor-related store). I bought about six feet of webbing (the stuff they make web belts out of, not standard climbing webbing). At one end is a standard clip: it's used for securing loads.

Anyway, put it around your shoulders and torso until it fits comfortably...then just cut away the excess slack from the far end.

I think this cost a couple of dollars, is comfortable, adjustable, and strong enough to support a lot of weight.

It's easier to make it yourself than to get someone else to do it and make it fit. If you want something wider than paracord stores like www.ems.com that sell mountain climbing equipment have a variety of flat and tubular webbing. You might find some suitable ribbon in a fabric store, too.

Thanks for the input fellows. I'm looking for a shoulder holster set up for a knife instead of a pistol.

Yes, they make some nice things. I have a couple of small items being made now.
My problem is that funds are a bit limited and their harness, which is perfect, is a bit much for my pocketbook. That is why I was looking for an alternative, maybe something used.
Again, thanks for your input.

Ol' Prof. Ed
