Trying to decide my dedicated bushcraft knife. I have ruled out the traditional scandi grind due to strength concerns and have zeroed in on another BRKT. However i have smallish hands. 4" across the hand. However i am looking for a4" blade. What is going to be my best bet for a bush knife. I will not be batoning a ton but would like it for it if in a pinch. However the aurora almost looks too big for my hand. Anybody have any cutting comparisons between the more full height convex vs the scandi convex grind. Any help would be grateful at this point. just wanna get the most bang for my buck at this point. right now using an RC-4 and a Mini-canadian as well as a laplander saw and GB hunters axe.

I think the Liten Bror would be just what your asking for. The Aurora has a big handle and lengthy blade. Also consider the trusty Fallkniven F1 for smallish hands. Probably the best bang for the buck and sized for a "in a pinch" situation is a simple F1.

I have a Liten Bror, and like it a lot. It's hard for me to imagine wanting anything larger, especially if I'm backpacking. If I was on horseback or car-camping, I might take something bigger, but it's really plenty. Very comfortable to use, too.

In comparison to full-convex Bark Rivers, it bites harder, and is definitely well-suited to wood.

I had an Aurora for a while and recently sold it. Blade was a bit too long for my tastes. Was looking into a Liten Bror, but decided to pursue a custom from Koyote with one of his 'scandi-vex' grinds, very similar to a Liten-Bror, actually. I think you'd probably be happier with a Liten-Bror over an Aurora.

Thanks for all the help guys. Will probably be ordering one up within the week! I looked at the gunny but kinda want to stick more traditional with the spear point for carving and such.

Just so you know, one of the dealers can have BRK put a spear or drop point on a Gunny. I've seen several that way.
