I am looking for a comfortable and sturdy woods/camp knife and from what I've seen I like Bark River and Fallkniven. Are there any opinions out there as to which better fits the bill? Also, which models do you all like? Thanks for any help.

Any preferences? I may not be of much help. I own a Fallkniven S1, but haven't been able to use it much yet. But for what it's worth I love the feel and size of it, plus I used it a bit today just with some outdoor work and blade is still sharp as a razor. I just have nothing to compare it to other than a Gerber Big Rock Camp Knife. But that thing is a shade of abysmal.

So what is your price range?
Handle material?
Blade steel?
Choil or no?
Size?

I have liked all my Bark Rivers. I have handled a few Fallknivens, and they get good reviews, but I prefer the Barkies- completely subjective, since I haven't compared them. I think you'll find both of these companies have LOTS of fans and very few, if any, detractors.

For what it's worth, for your stated uses, check out the NorthStar or Fox River as a starting point- BRKT has quite a selection that would serve you well.

What will you use it for (all kinds of camping, car camping, pack backing)? What would you like to use it for (heavy chopping, food prep, skinning, PBJ spreader)? Any preferences in your blade shape, size? Then we could help you better...

I am looking for a knife that I will use for general camping and woods purposes (rope cutting, some woodwork, some chopping). So I am looking for a knife that is sturdy and holds a good edge. Comfort and balance are also highly prized as well. A well styled design never hurt either but form definitely follows function here. As far as the blade steel (I am not an expert) but I have always liked S30V and D2, but I am open to other suggestions. My budget is $125-$150. I hope this helps.

if you keep any knife sharp, rope and cord cutting would be fine on a Plain Edge (PE).

I'd suggest a Ranger-RD series (Ready Detachment), RD6 maybe (though their made with 5160 but a really tough steel).

Think of a semi custom blade at production cost, and his are in your price range.
Justin is a great guy to work with, none better! http://www.rangerknives.com/Knives/index.html
