Okay, this is my first post here because I am on a mission to find information on a certain knife that was recently destroyed in a fire.

As you can see, this is only the blade. The handle was burned away. It was a brown handle with yellow, red and maybe white stripes on it close to the butt of the knife. My Mom thinks it might have been from Vietnam but I can't find anything with just general online searches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to find a way to replace this knife for my Mom because it belonged to her uncle who passed away. It may be impossible but I would like to try.

Are there any markings at all visible on the blade tang? Even a partial or remnant stamp would be extremely helpful.

Welcome to the forums jamoore,

To improve your chances of success you will want to get the clearest possible pics you can. A lot of members recomend scanning the knife on a flat bed scanner, although i have not tried this.

Provide all the information you possibly can about the knife, any blade marks, any history, etc...

You may also want to post in the knife identification forum. You can request the mods move this thread there if you like, just click on the ! that says report next to the title of your post.

Good Luck!
Adam

There aren't any markings on it that i can see and I don't believe that there were before the fire destroyed. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
