I bought a Gerber folding knife yesterday. I can't remember the name of it. It is a brass-framed knife with wood scales. The blade is a 3" dropped point. The blade is stamped GERBER on the left side. The right side is marked in 2 lines-Portland,OR.--97223,U.S.A. If anyone could post a confirmation photo, it would be greatly appreciated. IIRC, these were '70's knives. Thanks

re you looking for someone to post a picture for you? If so, just email it to me and I would be glad to help.

I believe it´s one of the sportsman series, this were thin one blade lockbacks with brass liners and bolsters, wood inserts and polished blades, the steel is pretty good, probably 440C, there were a couple of models with rectangular shaped handles and one with a curvy "derringer" style.

I have one of the derringer styles, the thin wood scales are now broken, I added a lanyard hole and a thumb stud, It´s a good and nice knife, I´ll have to replace those wood scales some day.

THanks Keith and Don. I am looking for a photo of this knife?
