I ended up with this KA-BAR from my grandfather-in-law. I am just curious to know more about it and dig into the history of any... But I can seem to find ANY info on this model. Thanks in advance

looks like a 1950-1965 Kabar 1233 or 1237 skinner that's been rehandled.
but that may actually be a fancy factory handle, I don't know enough about the old ones.
there's one very similar looking up on ePrey with what I think is a very high asking number.

That date checks with what I was finding on the tang stamp history. Beyond that I was at a loss.

Yeah, I saw that listing. Seems rather crazy.

The knife is early 1950s, but after 1952. It has factory original handle and a chrome plated blade. I would not use it, is is in nice collector condition. A little NevrDull would remove the green from the handle. Do not use any cleaner that contains any abrasives like Simichrome, NevrDull has no abrasives.

Thanks! Yeah it is in great condition. I have a sneaky suspicion it was old stock from his hardware store, explaining the little to no use.
