Knife ID of Late 90’s Model

Long time daily carry and user, recently rediscovered in the back of a drawer.

Anyone have an ID or any info on this one? I know I picked it up at a small knife shop in Baltimore in the late 90’s, probably late 98 or early 99. The steel is AUS-8 and it’s stamped as made in Japan. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Was this first known as a, Experimental 3? Before getting the Calypso, name

 

[HP2114B]

Experimental 3 and Caly Jr. are the same model. You'll probably need the box to prove it's technically an Experimental 3.

I really love the design. I wish I could remember how I picked up all those scratches on the blade!

It's AUS8. All you have to do is use it and those scratches magically appear.
