Picked up this Boker 2002 in a good bargain or so i believe. This was part of remaining stock that the shop was getting rid of. What is this wood? What would this be worth NIB? The box was missing...

Perhaps a better picture?
I believe that model was used as a platform for different handle materials.

I'd need a better picture to be sure, but the wood looks rather like thuya burl, though it looks like it could have been given a much better finish.

What makes you say it was used as a platform for different handle materials? My camera is crappy and the light here too, this is the est i could manage for now:

I have one of those in stag, and the blade etch is quite different. They are on ebay all the time with different handle materials. There is even one with damascus blade and genuine MOP handles once in awhile for a LOT of money. I think I paid somewhere around $50 to $60 a couple years ago for the one in stag, and I really like it, although I haven't used it except to look at.

What Esav was talking about is the Boker that looks like your knife but comes with the ability to interchange blades I don't know the model number. (~ $200) They make several blade shapes for it, including a ceramic skinning blade. Before the common place use of Sv30 it was the top game skinner going. My hunting buddy skinned 5 elk over 3 years with it and it was still sharp. But you had to send it in to factory if you wanted it resharpened.

300

bokers 440c steel was pretty decent.these were made in their german facility, fit & finish was good. 30$ or less buy all you can.

Mike has these on the collectorknives.net site, and you can see several handle material types.

thx - cpr

Folks, let's get back to talking more about the knives themselves and less about the $$$$.

Thanks.
