I have an old custom hunter marked manwho 441. Anyone ever heard of this maker? My camera is not working or I would take a pic. Found the knife at a gunshow.
 
Mark that is the gentleman who lives out at El Reno. His name is Jack Reuter. He forges a lot of knives out of files and horse rasps. Did his own scrimshaw on some of them. I don't know if he is still with us or not. Mike
 
Thanks mike. It is made out of a file. It's a well made knife. Yellow micarta slabs. How long did he make knives ?
 
I don't know for sure but he made number 304 in 1993. He did a show with Oklahoma Outdoors and I have a dvd of it. He forged the knife out heattreated it,matched brass and wood handles for it. He had made them for 6 or 7 years then.
 
Talked to jack. He's still making knives and a great guy to talk too. Thanks for the info mike.
