Anybody know what knife this is? Seen it posted elsewhere and poster didnt say what it was.
Would very much appreciate it if could identify.

I asked the guy who posted it twice what it was and no answer. Maybe he doesn't know what it is either.:p

It looks stedemon-ish. This may never be solved.

DING, DING, DING!!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!

Congrats, Dude!!!! Ya know, in the realm of modern folders, it's not very often anyone shows up with something that apparently can't be identified....
But, I am curious, it appears to be fairly well made. And I, for one, would be interested to see how long it takes to come up with the correct maker....

Haha We do have a winner! Though not sure many would call it that, maybe me.

Petrified Fish Spring Broach PF717. Petrified... friggin...fish...:p

Aus 8 auto from dhgate. At least it's cheap. I'm probably gonna get one cause really like the design. Like a kershaw decimus auto, and prefer aus8 over 8cr13. I really wish kershaw would have put a better steel on the decimus. If would have used sandvik or bdz1 I'd own multiples.

Thanks for the help guys!

How did you find out?

Agreed. Would like to see ZT do a Maximus/Decimus w/ some 20CV or M390..

I've actually never owned a hinderer. Maximus was one really wanted, seen few of them at around $250 and if would have had $ at the time would have got. If ZT could do it in those steels (or even less primo) for 1/2 price of maximus would definitely get one.

Just got my son a Kershaw Launch 8 auto for his birthday. Kind of an art deco take on the traditional Italian stiletto. CPM154 blade steel, not sure what the hardness is, but for $100, it's a pretty interesting piece. Going to get one for myself, after handling it. And, in my opinion, it looks better than the Decimus...

If the kershaw launches had safeties i'd probably own every single one they ever made! Great knives and value. Would pay extra for the safety. Won't buy an auto without safety. Would never carry it anyways. Too accident prone.

I’m glad you got it figured out, and good on ya for sending it in his language. I scoured the net last night and couldn’t find it bro.

The launches are actually very good. I’ve never had the stiletto version, but they’re one of the best deals going right now for an auto.

CPM154, Nice aluminum handles, FAST opening, made in USA, all priced around one bill. It’s hard to go wrong with one. If you’re worried about it misfiring you could always take the clip off and carry in a sheath.

I highly doubt it would come open even without a sheath. No way it would come all the way open in a sheath. The buttons are nicely recessed so you have to deliberately want it to come open.

That's my take as well, the button is not easy to depress accidentally. And it has enough throw before it unlocks to make it fairly safe. For me, it will be carried as a back-up to my .45 Commander. I don't consider it a utility knife for EDC, and I have plenty of those already anyway.

I just put mine on order.

Good idea about the sheath, have carried søke protechs without safeties like that in sheath. Never pocketed an auto without safety, I've had flippers and assisted opener cut pockets and poke in leg before deploying in pocket. Very accident prone.;)

I have the Emerson style Launch and the new Launch 8. The Emerson suffered from the lock bounce issue, which (oddly) eventually resolved itself...

The 8 locks perfectly in every position, right out of the box. Neither is easy enough to deploy that I worry about pocket carry; the button is recessed, has a fairly long 'throw' and is not particularly easy to depress. Never had an issue.

Since there’s no Kershaw forum anymore, I suppose I’ll add to the derailment of this thread and ask the fine folks here to -please- chime in if you have had any lock bounce issues with the Launch 8.

Nearly every Launch I’ve had either had it or developed it quickly, so, in addition to my hesitance based on side-opening autos not being particularly dissimilar to assisted knives (push a thing and a spring opens the knife, and you have to fight that spring to close it), I’ve largely ignored the Launch series since around late 2015.

The 8, however, speaks to me, as I’ve had a longstanding affinity for the Stiletto aesthetic (my first “quality” knife was a Cold Steel Counterpoint II back in 2011 or so). I’d also be interested to see a 4” version as well, although it’s probably against my financial interests that they release such a product.
