I recently started collecting knives and I was given a knife with a leather sheath by a friend and I was trying to find out more information about it. I believe it's a clip point blade measuring 4 3/4" with the total length of the knife measuring 9 inches with a full tang. It has a stag horn grip with a wooden pommel and a metal guard. The markings on the blade say Sheffield England. In between those two words, there is another marking that is much harder to read, but, from what I can make out, it is a diamond shape that looks like it says "dependon" inside of it, with the words "made in" on top of the diamond and "regd." below the diamond. Either 24 H or 24 M is stamped on the ricasso.

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I'm posting this on the wrong place. Anything anyone can tell me about this knife is greatly appreciated. If any terminology I used is incorrect, I also apologize. Like I said, I'm new to collecting knives, but I'd love to learn as much as I can.

@Jack Black is very knowledgeable of all things Sheffield - he hangs out in the traditional folders and fixed blades forum. Maybe you can repeat this question there or get the thread moved somehow.

Figuring out how to post pictures here can be a bear, but that seems like a very detailed description of the stampings.
