Knife in book

So there I was, reading "Finder" by Greg Rucka (pulp crime novel) and he starts warbling on about the knife carried by a BG. Here we go I think, expecting the usual candyass sheeple knife, when lo! The bad guy has an Emerson CQC-6! Accurately described as a one hand opening tanto suitable for "chopping kindling, or killing, depending on your preference". Next thing I know the main character is noticing sinister type with clips outa their pockets.
Anyone else been pleasantly surprised by a knife in a book?
