I just got my new copy of Backwoodsman, the March/April 2010 issue, and saw that Dan Schectman had written an article. On the way to work, I stopped just long enough in the PO parking lot to read his mentioning of the book, "The Knife in Homespun America". Basically, it listed a lot of the "old timey" designs. A lot of members in WSS, including myself, love the old designs (a few Kepharts and a Hudson Bay chief camp knife in my collection). I am looking to pick up a copy of this book, haven't even started looking for prices yet. Pick one up, and see what designs some makers can crank out for me :).

SHS,
it a great book and one Dan turned me onto years ago.
I've seen quite a few maker do exact copies of the blades in that book. It's one for the collection.

I have had a copy for a few years. Great book. I know Matt of ML knives is never far from his copy. Great research piece.
