Knife in Oregon, in-car and on-person

I just bought a knife for both hiking/camping, as well as survival. It is 7'' long, and does not fold or close. See picture:

I would like to know what the legality of the knife is. Here are my questions:

1) If I need to take it camping with me, then where do I keep it while traveling? If I keep it in the trunk, is that make it a concealed weapon, or is that legal?

2) When can I have it on my person, and where must it be? If i'm out in the forest, can I have it hanging visibly from my belt loop? What about if I am on the street?

Just because of my proximity, I would also like to know the laws in Washington as well. I've read Oregon law, but its too legal-mumbo-jumbo.

Thanks for the help.
