OK Guys this is the knife I built for the Knife-in-the-hat exchange. I know Chris is making a web page and all, but I couldn't wait to show you (since just about everybody here has helped me out one time or another).

Holly crap do I feel humbled now!! That looks superb, and is very obviously one slick little unit. Very nice.

Me, too. I can't remember why I agreed to send one of my knives to another maker anyway... Great job on that knife!

I like contrast, so my contribution to the trade is the polar opposite of that! Sheesh.

hmm ... its too late, i take it, to pull out of the deal and run for the hills in shame ...... right???
:D

well i just saw steves first two knives last sept, watch out! there's a new kid in town! steve that is great! what is that handle?

Thanks much for the kind words. Really makes my day.

But it's only fair to say that photos don't reveal everything and it does have it's flaws. On the other hand, I was so scared to send this to another knife maker I spent way too much time on it. My wife was a bit miffed because I'm back-ordered on 5 other knives.

Fortunately, the knife coming back to me is very similar in size and function so it worked out. Actually, I think the one I'm getting is a better knife, but that's not why we got into this. It's to make friends and meet people.

Will & Rhino,

The scales are (and this is embarrassing) unknown to me. Chiro75 asked that we not use any expensive materials - good plan. So these are scales that I picked up at a knife show. They are end cuts from some stabilized stuff. The sides aren't matched so the price was really, really cheap. I think it is maple burl.
