Yup! Eventually it happened to me. I had my CRKT clipped to my gym shorts. Yesterday I threw them in the washer forgetting about the knife

.

It was sitting in the washing machine for several hours while I was at work. Needless to say, the knife was clean

, with some rust spots on the blade

. But it was enough to rub it with a spirit and TuffCloth to get rid of rust.

In case somebody wondered about cleaning their knife, washing apparently works.

Just don't leave it sitting there for hours.

Kris

P.S. I even put it in the dryer with everything else, but it started banging.

Take a good look at that post.
Then stick the words "You know you're a knife-o-holic when"...... in front of the post...... and there you go....

AHHHHHHHHH,
A while back MY WIFE washed my Commander and also dried it in the Dryer!! (not my fault)

It opened and did a number on my shorts and her new Dale Earnhardt shirt!! She was REALY P!$$ed

I reminded her that part of doing the laundry was checking pocket contents! I also pointed out that if it was money she would have found it

!!! This didn't make her any happier,

My Wife carries a Spyderco Rookie. She uses it to open boxes and cut tape. She washed it. Imagine my surprise when I took the cloths from the washer to the dryer. I look down and see a Rookie!! I have found all kinds of stuff in the bottom of the washing machine (I've got two Boys

) but this is the first time I have ever found a knife. Other then the tape residue the knife was clean!

I've sent Benchmade AFCKs through the washer twice now. No dammage in either case. In fact, they come out nice and clean. Oh, and Benchmade Balisongs are top-rack dishwasher safe (one of the advantages of the skeleton handle design).
