I was watching the Steelers stomp the Ravens and this commercial for "Unknown" plays by. I noticed the knife open and thought it was a DDR Krait.

It is not a Krait, but am curious if anyone recongnizes this one. It is certainly inspired by the the Krait.

It is a mtech fixed blade. $5 at Big 5 if it is on sale. Chisel ground. Blade is like made of tin or something. Sometimes it can be found with a black coating and with the Smith and Wesson Brand on it.

It's the Smith and Wesson version of DDR's Krait knife. This is confirmed by the man himself on his facebook page.

Interesting how this blade comes in many forms. IMO it is a good cheap fixed chisel ground blade to "practice" things on. The sheath and handle are also fun and easy to paint because the plastic absorbs. I made mine coyote brown.

Also I am relatively sure this is a fixed blade. See that circular notch near the base of the blade? That notch keeps the blade in the sheath.

The knife is opened. Just watch the videos and stop right before the knife comes out and use the mouse. I highly doubt they used movie magic for that.

Also, the blade in the movie is recurved. All the links have straight tantos.

To me, it looks like it drops out of his sleeve.
