What milestones in your life have really impacted your interest in knives and knife acquisition?
Most of us here really enjoy knives. Most of us are “knife knuts”. Most of us started out early in life with knives. But, what pushed you past "the couple of knives that you use" stage of your life?
I point to the following in my life
Case knives-traditional slip joints. My first “good” knife (a Barlow).
Randall Knives
Switchblade curiosity.
The Buck 110; but went with a Schrade 250T as my go to work knife and hunting knife.
SOG knives in the early 2000’s.
Discovering Bob Dozier knives.
Traditional knives in general. The appeal has never left me.
Buying and using my first Victorinox Swiss Army knife.
The first assisted opening knife I purchased.
The first flipper.
Using a Case Peanut and considering my real needs.
Downsizing the size of knife I carry and routinely use.
I'm Interested in your development in the knife hobby....

I point to the following in my life
- Always liked knives since I was about 6 years old, hence the foundation for the future hobby and interest.
- Growing older and earning a better living.
- A future brother in law who absolutely loves knives.
- The Rambo First Blood movie.
- Buying my first “survival” knives and fondling the hell out of them even if I didn’t use them.
- The internet in general. High(er) Speed internet connections and joining Blade Forums in 2005.
- Hunting and hiking, hence my internal justification for many knives beyond childhood.
- Becoming aware that there is such a thing as handmade or custom knives.
- Being somewhat honest with myself and open minded about using knives and choosing knives that reflect that use.
- Acceptance that I simply like to accumulate stuff and knives are part of that.
- Knife Shows in general….
