I know this may sound kind of strange, but I have started keeping a daily journal of all the times I use my Swiss army knife in a year. It is amazing how often I use my climber. The other night at a relatives house no one could find a bottle opener. Well guess what I had. It seems to never end.

I kept a little knife/tool journal as an experiment to find out what kind of tool combination would suit best. I wrote down what I did, what I used and a short comment about how it worked. I took the idea from a guy I worked with doing long horseback trips through the mountains, we'd take notes on our equipment and try to refine our loads for the next journey.

However, since I like knives and tools my plan to just buy stuff that fit my actual needs went out the window pretty fast.
