Recommendation? Knife Kit

I was wondering I buying a knife kit would be a good way to start in knife making for slip joints?

it would be a good introduction. you could also trace all the parts on steel before assembling, then make your own.

You can also do as I did and disassemble cheap or broken slipjoints to see how they work. That and gathering information from forums worked for me.

ok thank you for the advice and I will see if I can get a cheap slipjoint soon to look at
Are slipjoints typically pinned together?
What about steels can i use the same blade steel for the frame?

I like to go to fleamarkets to get cheap/broken knives. Yes almost always pinned and yes you can use the same steel. Typical slipjoints use brass for liners.
