Knife kits of any kind legal in all 50 states?

I'm thinking of ordering a typhoon trainer from knifekits and I'm wondering if it would be legal to have it sent to my address in California.

I know sending and receiving balisongs in this state are illegal, but I'm not sure about unsharpened trainer kits.

Anyone have any info on this subject?
 
I am not a lawyer not do I act like one.

I would think that an unsharpened trainer is NOT a "real knife" therefore shouldn't be considered illegal. Just don't dare put an edge on it or carry it around.
 
Federal law and most of the State laws have been modified to include the banning of parts. In the Laws eyes they are considered the same as a completed knife. If Autos and Bali's are illegal in your state, chances are that trainers, kits and parts are illegal too.
