I was wondering if any of you guys have built any of the folding knife kits from knife kits.com? I'm looking at their new small button lock folder and one of their frame locks right now.

Thanks in advance

I have. They're decent quality, maybe a tad overpriced for what you get. If you like a particular model you can't get elsewhere, probably worth it. Didn't get the ones you mentioned, so don't know specifics.

A good (maybe better) alternative if your looking for a project knife, is to check ebay for knives in bad shape, you can usually get them pretty cheap... and fix 'em back up.

I've built quite a few. The 'higher end' kits are a bit overpriced IMO too. The lower end kits are priced accordingly though.
The button lock kit looks neat but not sure if I want to drop the cash for it.

All of the kits I have bought and built were good quality none the less. :D

Thanks, I just want to make sure I'll end up with a usable knife when its done, as I'll probably be giving them away.

All but one kit that I made ( I made about 12-15) ended up as gifts , all were nicely embellished beyond the norm too.

My Marine buddy Dave still carries his from time to time. :)

I've built a few FL-006s to give away. They're actually a nice knife.

I've also built a DDR-3 and a DDR-2. Like others have said probably a bit overpriced. I've carried my DDR-3 daily for the last three and it's held up well.
