Anyone name their blades? I read a review of the Griptilian by Geode and callahwj posted that he hated the name because he called it the Gripzilla. Taking mine out and looking at it with its "eye" and Olive drab handles mixed with its size and the "scales" on its handles, I dubbed it "Godzilla".

What are some names for your knives?

Most of my knives are named after women in my life with the exception of my REKAT Hobbits which all have Tolkein names. Bear in mine, I did this long before the current LOTR craze nor do I say thier names aloud when others are around! I don't wanna hear, "That freak has tooooo many knives and now he's talking to them!" :p

I name mine after carrying it for a while. Usually the name has to do with aspects of the connection I have with the knife: How I use the knife; its design strengths; what I like about how it looks. Stuff like that.

Usually I carry the knife for a few months before I think of a name. The name for the Dragonfly came to me after a month and a half, and I felt the name coming about a week before I landed on the right word. The one exception so far was the BM 710HS, which I named on the second day, I liked it so much.

In Spanish, I¨ve heard "Punzabarrigas" and "Rascatripas" which could be translated to something like "Bellypoker" and "Gutscratcher", kind of on the agressive side I guess.

Then also there are: Doc, Grumpy, Dopey, Sleepy, Bashfull, Sneezy, and Happy (hope I got those right in English).
