I noticed in at least 4 episodes of the animated series King of the Hill, the lead character, Hank Hill has used some form of knife that it seems the artists were trying to be fairly accurate about.
So far I've seen things that looked like: Buck 110, a red-handled SAK, what appeared to be a stockman pocket knife, and possibly a Gerber-style, blunt-nosed multi-plier. In the multi-plier's case, it was used to save a life.
This is quite a very different way of putting knives before the general viewing public in a positive, non-threatening light.
