I'm going to Colorado tomorrow. Does anyone know the knife law for folders. Can I legally carry my military. Thanks in advance

IIRC, one of the reasons Sal designed the Stretch was for personal carry in CO, since there's a 3.5" limit there and the Military was not legal carry.

this PDF has a basic break down of the knife laws in all 50 states and as many localities as they can find info for. the deacon is correct, colorado has a 3.5" blade limit. http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USKnife.pdf

I'm glad i live in PA, i can carry a cold steel espada xl with no problem as long as i don't go into philly with it.

3.5 inches, No auto unless military.

Been in Colorado my whole life, and the only time Ive ever been asked about my knife was because the Cop was a knife Junkie and just wanted to see what I was carrying... So I sold him a knife. ;)

I had a Lakewood, CO LEO in my house for a discussion about a recent break-in, and I asked her about her take on legal carry limits. She pulls out a yellow Spyderhawk SE and proceeds to ooh and ahh over my Millie while saying that anything she sees that has a pocket clip and sticks out a little while clipped in is "obviously a Pocket Knife" <her emphasis>, and not something she would be concerned about. She was not bothered by the size of the Military.

She was very interested to see the Gayle Bradley and Manix2 D2 Sprint.

Sorry, my bad, :barf: the foliage green sprint...CTS-XHP.

Just wishing I guess...maybe Tom Krein could do a collab?

Ive spent the last 7 summers in CO... If you READ the law it first defines a "knife" as an object capable of cutting, ripping or stabbing with a blade length of over 3.5". It then says that it is illegal to conceal a knife. Further reading leaves the law incredibly open ended to interpretation. Most people think that it means that over 3.5" is illegal, but it is simply not true. One would not be in the wrong to read it with the meaning that a switchblade under 3.5" is indeed not a "knife." CO even has an open carry law for firearms... As long as you are not a convicted felon and are over 21, you can walk around most towns with a pistol on your belt! As stated above, municipalities, such as Denver, more clearly describe blade length laws... Probably the only reason I own a Benchmade Mini Grip.
