Hi - Great forums!
I have a question on legality of the sale of daggers and fixed blades in NY state.
My wife and I are retailers in southern New York State, Orange County. We have a small store that sells fantasy oriented handmade items and artwork.
Recently I added some "collectible" knives and daggers to our offerings and they are becoming popular. Anything from handmade decorative pewter handles with small blades 2-4" to larger fixed blades and daggers up to 10-18" +/- . Some of these items are obviosuly just for decoration while others are "real" quality blades.
No switchblades, gravity knives, butterflys, kung fu items, etc.
My questions is, can anyone point me towards the law (if existing) on sale of these items? (we don't sell to anyone under 18 and card babyfaced customers) but is there anything on the legality of actually selling these knives and daggers and are they considered "dangerous weapons" and covered under a general law?
Thanks very much for any input or experiences!
