Greetings!

I am going to be travelling to Japan in a month, and need to know the laws in Japan regarding carrying a knife.

Thanks!

Randy

The process at using the airline with knives is the same as what in America (Maybe almost countries). It's forbiddend to carry in airplane but it's possible to consign as the cargo you deposit in advance before the board.
On the street in Japan. I think it's not be problem if you wouldn't carry it as exposured. There're no inspection by policemen on the street, and most people broad mindedness to carry it.

Carrying a knife in Japan is not bad at all. Flying just put in checked baggage, that is all.

Just keep the size to a good 3" and in your pocket . I carried my whole time there. Cops do not bother you til you do something stupid.

Have a safe trip. Japan is one of the safest places I have been to in this world.

Can anyone recommend a small (sub 3") fixed blade knife for concealed carry when I am Japan and at home?

Just buy one there. They have good selection of customs.
Do a seaech here of some of them. I listed areas and directions (Tokyo area).
