I am new to this site and would like to know how to find out if Switch Blades or Butterfly knifes are legal in SC. Both are sold at some stores

Check under the General Knife Discussion header and you will find a Knife Laws subforum. You should find a link there to the laws of your state. Be advised that local ordinances may be more restrictive.

switchblades are legal as long as they are not stilleto, opening from the side is ok. due to our state atty. gen.'s interpretation of what a switchblade is.
