Hey guys,

Does anyone know what the laws say about shipping double edged knives from state to state?

I've always stayed away from double edged blades and never offered them to my customers because I wasn't sure I could sell them legally. I'd sure like to offer them if I can.

Thanks!

Hey Bruce,

Here in the Ozarks we all call 'em "Pig Stickers". 'Course that literally means a good knife to "stick" the pig when butchering.

But, I've got a couple of brother-in-laws who are also cops, and they didn't look too much like they liked me calling them "Pig Stickers"!!!

Guess I'll just have to learn to call 'em "Letter Openers" too!

Knife laws vary so much... I'll bet most of us don't even know the details of the knife laws in our own community.

Does anyone publish a pamphlet or something summarizing knife laws in general? Maybe the Blade Forums could have a section that lists this sort of information for reference?

I have always thought it very illogical that it is illeagle for me to carry a switcdhblade when the State of Texas allows me to carry a concealed loaded pistol. I have my handgun permit and it seems to me that if they can trust me with a pistol I should be trusted with a much less deadly weapon/tool such as a switchblade or double edged dagger.
